This is one hell of a scary clip. Imagine me moving like that. From the Ironman running rules "1. No form of locomotion other than running, walking OR CRAWLING is allowed"

Free Pics
The moment that I've been waiting for...the free downloadable pics for the PBIM sponsored by Digi. When I first saw the pics...the first thought that came through my mind was...it's really bad, no wonder its free.
[pic1 of me]
Yes. The person in white is me. So small don't know see what also. All I can see is Digi here and there.
[pic 2 of me]
I already prepared my 'pose' for the finishing pic. I even practiced it at the 20km mark. Yes, I raised up both my arms in my practice. The people on the opposite lane must be thinking this guy run until wire sot d. Haha. I think I 'posed' too early. Timing not good.
[pic 3 of me]
My face is like ... crap. Eyes closed, body positioning also tak betul. Mouth sumore open big big. Eyer.
I tried searching for pictures of people that I know and most of the result was no file was found except this one. This one also funny. =p

The guy in white on the right side is Sam. He's pic lagi teruk got 4 person in the pic. Haha. And he is so tiny. If he frames this pic up, people would think the one is orange is him. Aneh proper ki.
[A bicep and sam]This also epic fail, no gaya at all. Wanna show show also cannot. Haha.

Kayuh Malam
Last night's ride was awesome, not sure whether its because of the glucose drink that I had or what. Maybe its because I found the optimum gear for me, it may be lower than the usual one I use, but my cadence speed was faster, hence keeping the speed up with less energy output.
I could almost maintain 35km/h throughout my journey, which was about an hour. From my research, Craig Alexander and other top athletes ride at an average speed of 38~40km/h for close to 5hours. Power nia!
I'm already getting bored with my route, I need something fresh. What I did was I went up Bukit Gambir and turn back after the downhill. It was a double small climb and turn back via Jelutong expressway. I'm starting to find cycling dangerous. haha!
Phone still not okay, no music during training. Kinda bored without it, makes you think a lot. A lot things start rushing through my mind. Getting worried. =/
I'm down with an infected eye. Very irritating! =(

Ford IronMan World Championship
If you are a triathlete, there is no bigger day in this sport than the Ford Ironman World Championship. It is the race that defined our sport as it came of age, and continues to be the defining race in our sport for any avid triathlete.
To get to the starting line in Kona, you must either be very lucky and get yourself a spot through the lottery, or very talented, and win yourself a qualifying spot at one of the qualifying events held around the world.
Tens-of-thousands of triathletes try to get one of those coveted Ironman spots every year. Only 1,800 succeeded.
That means 1,800 "lucky" people get to test themselves on one of the biggest challenges the sports world has to offer ... 2.4-miles of swimming, 112-miles of biking, and a 26.2-mile marathon run through tough ocean waves, and challenging lava-covered terrain.
While there are thousands of triathlons around the world, it is this one that truly defines the sport. It all began at an Awards Ceremony for a relay running race in Honolulu in 1977. A group of local athletes discussed the idea of an endurance triathlon and combining three major events that already existed on the island. John Collins suggested combining them and making it a single-day event. Later that evening, Collins took the stage announcing the event and that "whoever finishes first, we will call him the IRONMAN." It has since become triathlon's Super Bowl, Wimbledon, World Series, World Cup, and Tour de France all rolled into one. What makes this event so unique is that "average" people get to compete alongside the best in the world.

Top Reasons To Date A Triathlete
Not too long ago, I came across a post on likealostghost.com regarding '10 Reasons to Date a Drummer.' So I thought I should Google on 'Reasons to date a Triathlete'. The list goes like this;
- Going long and hard is the name of the game
- We're oh-so smooth
- Worst case scenario we last 17 hours
- We like to get wet
- We also like to get sweaty
- We know when to make our move
- "Mechanical difficulties" are never much of an issue
- We are ALWAYS tweaking our position
- Spandex!
- We know how to ride
- We routinely get undressed in mere seconds
- We know how to finish strong
- We can perform under any condition
- We're up for a ride anywhere, anytime
- We never stop no matter how hard it is
- We're half naked
- We always put in a hard thrust at the very end
- We don't mind when things gets a lil rough
My second PBIM
The day before the race, we had our ritual team meet up aka carbo loading. Met a few new guys and familiar faces from Team Miracle Mile. Collected our race pack, etc. Later that night, Sam came over my place to stay for the night. We then load again and he bought his first ever PowerBar.
With so much of loading, I planned to release those crap and unnecessary burden before race morning. We went to bed about 9.00pm woke up at 2.10am. Tried to crap, push, push but nothing came out. No choice, I have to carry those 'burden'.
Got there by bike, I was only in my running vest and it was freezing cold. What a way to start before the race.
Did a little warm up and I was ready to go. The muted-gun went off and the race begins. Met a couple of floorballers along the way, wished them all the best and went on.
Just before getting on the bridge Sam asked why am I running so slow. He said my pace should be faster than my current speed. I knew what to expect because I've been through this road before. I told him, 'Relax, we have a long way still.' Didn't wanna tekan so fast.
First 10K was pretty good, managed to clocked a PB of 48:16. that's an average of 12.4km/h. That's a good speed. I was pacing this grey singlet guy from the 6th km mark, he's speed was consistent and fast. In my mind I know I can take him down. I tried to overtake him, but he seems to be further from me, I tried to close our gap but it widen again. It was frustrating, in my head I went, 'Walau, this guy aneh keat meh?.' Its only at the 11th km mark, that's when I overtook him. It felt great! (Pace and hunt technique to keep your head busy)
Into the 15K mark, the bridge seems to clear off, more space less people. It was a race against time. Target was a sub 2hours, problem is I did not wear a watch or carry my phone with me. So I didn't know how much time I have taken.
I saw bananas, should I take? A bit hungry la. haih...forget bout it. Eat later focus now. But it looks big and tempting. hehe.
I didn't feel too good, stomach giving me problem and I could feel those 'burden' at the end of the hose if you know what I mean. I was so afraid I would be too tired to hold those 'burden' together.
Hence, pace started to drop, I could feel tiredness creeping through my legs. Have to stay strong, looked my LIVESTRONG wrist band. Felt a rush of energy again. Aha...my mental workout works. =)
After my turn at the E.gate checkpoint, I saw a bunch of scouts sleeping like babies. I know this has nothing to do with me but I feel like waking them up with a loud roar. Just for fun. Tension d that time.
Saw the last 2K mark, time to tekan turbo. I thought I would overtake most of the runners there, but I was wrong. They were all strong as well, some even tekan NOS. Run run run, saw the finishing line, wohoo. No crowd to cheer me on, so no semangat la the ending. Net time was 1:46:10 and I came out 66th placing. I am happy with my time.
Went to get those free drinks and bananas along the way. A Digi promoter came up to be at about 4+ am to promote their broadband. I was like, Waaaaaaah, this people are crazy. Sipek hardworking. See you tired also boh pang kua.

That did not actually happen in reality. But I did receive a card from my family, every year without fail. And that actually weights more than the above bike. I know how they feel towards me as a son and brother but the bike would never give me that feelings.----------------------------------------------------

Hot and Cold, Up and Down
After last weekend's hell week, I had to take Monday off. No form of exercise on that day. Just total recovery. I felt better the next day, so I decided to cycle up BP again. Didn't wanna cycle back home as I was not 100% fit. I feel I lack of proper nutrients.
The journey there is always a pain in my butt, it does not get easier but I know it makes me stronger. Trust me, it not easy.

Distance: 18.61km

Max speed:61.4km/h

Cruising 61.4km/r downhill is adrenaline rushing! Yeah! I only do that on straight road so don't worry.
Floorball training was at a medium intensity with a lot of basic drills. Sometimes we just need to get out feet back on the ground.
Did a 8k run the following day, legs still not fully recovered but time is running out. I have meetings and outing the following days, so this might be my last run before my half marathon. During lunch, my dad asked me, 'I thought last year you said you're not gonna participate in the bridge run anymore?' I just went, 'Hahaha.' It happens after every post race. The pain and torture after it and also the glory and satisfaction.
Heard of Marathon Des Sables before? This is even more hardcore than ultra marathons. I just admire people who pushes the human limit. Insane courage!

Bad Trip
This was my 3rd trip down to KL for the past two months. I missed 4 youth services consecutively and 3 morning services. I felt really guilty!
Why was it a bad trip?
[Before training]
[i could feel IT leaving]
Why was it a bad trip?
[Before training]
- I forgot to bring my wallet to KL. Left it in my colleague's handbag cause I was rushing to LinKen's house. But thanks to Ter Min and Suzie, I got a short-tem loan interest free.
- I did not feel too good. Under the rain for 2days might trigger this problem.
- Couldn't sleep well because I don't have a blanket. It was cold in the middle of the night. I got close to TerMin to get some body heat. Could feel our ass touching each other. Only butt was warm but my body still cold. He complained in the morning. haha!
- My muscles started to ache in the morning even before training and I knew it's gonna be a bad training for me.
- I did not bring enough clothes (was feeling cold due to my soaking wet shirt.)
- Back really hurts, could not perform anymore as speed was dropping.
- No money to buy cold drinks.
- My stomach was bloated (no food after one piece of roti telur in the morning).
- Cramp is kicking in, very rare for me. Its a confirmation that my body is down.
- Vomited.
- Only had Maggi sup ayam after 6hours of training. Wanted something soupy and warm but that's the only thing they had.
- Could not finish my naan and teh o panas.
- Body feeling really down.
- Every muscle in my body is 'over-reacting'/merajuk.
- No medicated oil but found almost empty tiger balm to apply on my back and hands.
- Wanted to sleep early but Ter Min wants to talk. hahaha!
- Overslept that night.
- The queue as KFC was really long and a woman behind me was complaining. So irritating.
- Couldn't stand properly.
- Even with KFC, my favourite fast food restaurant. I could not enjoy it. Not satisfied at all but the soup taste so good.
- Ter Min's fart was betul betul KAW! Thick smelly crap air coming out frequently.
- Vomited when I reached home again. Vomited after dinner again.

Target for Olympic Distance
My goal for Olympic distance (1.5k swim 40k bike 10k run) triathlon is to be in the Top 20 for my age group. Below is the result for 2009's PD International triathlon. From my basic analysis, getting into the Top20 will be hell.
I have to swim an average of 2.6k/h, bike 35.3k/h and run 14.7k/h. Its not gonna be easy at all. How now? As long as I don't achieve this goal, I won't move on to half iron man. I'm accountable to you. =p
Going KL this weekend for our centralized Floorball national training. Its gonna be exciting as players from all over the country will coming together. I'm doing all this for Malaysia. Our National anthem 'Negara-ku' is the most inspirational song before any International tournament.

My Phone Died of Hypothermia
On my way to PISA for state physical training, I was caught in a heavy rain half along Jelutong Expressway. Can't do much but just hope that my phone and my cyclemeter survives. I kept checking on the screen just to make sure it still works.
When I got there, most of the guys and girls were already there. LinKen came to me and told me that I inspired him to run from his house to PISA. Ha!ha! Its a mental thing I tell you. Good job bro!
Our Coach came and brief us on the rules and punishment (100 push ups for every offence) if we don't comply with the 'law'. So be begin...before heading there, I was inspired by a running article on a blog, ' How to Think Like the Pros'. So I thought to myself, why not trying those mental exercise. And it really works!
We did 5loops around PISA which was about 5.3 km and I clocked 18m 20s. Average speed of 11.2 km/h. It was more like an interval training with lots of sprints in between. It was tiring. Fuuuuuuuuh. My last 500 m was torturing, I had to follow my coach's pace on his bike and I could feel me running without oxygen in my lungs. He was pushing me to my limits which I enjoyed. =)
Then it was time to head home, clouds were looking really dark and heavy. Sam offered me and Ima a ride home but I thought the rain would delay for me. Haha! I was wrong about it and I gotta pay a heavy price. I continued cycling under the downpour till it got super super heavy that's when I decided to stop and turn into a coffee house along Jelutong Expressway. All eyes are on me. I don't know why.
Its too heavy to continue on, so its pitstop for me. I was feeling cold and hungry. I overheard a drunk uncle talking to come chinese high school girls about me.

I really stink that time. As I was wiping my phone, it just died. Can't on it even I got home. Its gone. Maybe its true, I can't live without you, maybe two is better than one. Why leave me at a time like this? =(
Some people say I run faster and longer than the rest because I'm a triathlete but that's not true. I believe everyone running last night can beat me easily. Its how much you want to improve and how strong your head is. Its all about Independent Culture.

G Club Teluk Bahang Ride
I've been a member in G Club for 13 weeks and 3 days. Came across this group when I was searching for cycling groups in Penang. They are a small group of friendly recreational cyclist who organises a once-a-month ride to Teluk Bhang from G Hotel and also other ad hoc eco rides.
FYI, they are the group who are proposing a bike lane for cyclist. I like it! Imagine having a lane all by yourself. Don't have to worry about stupid inconsiderate drivers.

Check our their page for further details and future plans.
Last Sunday I was invited my Turbosnail to joined them for their monthly ride and the best part of it was, there were 4 RELA riders escorting and clearing the roads for us. Super COOL I tell you.
Woke up early in the morning to prepare myself, manatau, I dropped one of my contact lenses and it just disappeared. Mum even helped me to find but its just GONE. Pek chek. I can only see with one eye and its dangerous to ride in this condition. Haha!
As I cycled to G.Hotel, I saw many cyclist warming up and getting ready around Gurney Drive. Many runners were also running around. It was like a sports city that morning.
Around 7.30am, the journey begins, I think we had about 40 cyclist in total. I kinda took the lead after reaching Rasa Sayang, not because I'm better than this experieced rider but because I gotta rush back home for Church. So I sped up towards Teluk Bahang round-about with a RELA motorist in front of me. I really felt like pro! It felt so so good. hahaha.
Covered 40K in 1hr 10minutes. It was my best ride ever.
