I got a swimming coach...

As you all know, I have been struggling with my swim. Just a few laps and I get very tired. I have been downloading, loading videos and reading countless PDFs on swim and I still fail to improve.

Then as I was browsing my MSN list, a light bulb appear at the top of my head. Ahhhhhh, this guy was a life guard and he conducts swimming lessons as well. So without hesitation I double click his name *click click*.

And he agreed! yes yes!! =)

After only 1 lesson, I have improved 50% from 2 laps to 4 laps. He is very good in analyzing the rights and wrongs and gives good/clear instructions on how to improve. He is also very particular with the small details. Last night, he caught me cheating my way through my strokes. Dang! 'Pull to the end. Don't half way half way come up.'Ed commented. I'm sure I will improve. Those interested to learn swimming or to be more competitive, click here.

One thing I learned about learning is that it is not hard to learn more but what is hard is to unlearn when I discover myself wrong. Habit makes is hard but its not impossible if you're determine .i.e swimming techniques, slap shots, holding the stick with two hands, looking up when you're having the ball, burping, smoking, cursing, etc. If you have a bad habit, its time to break it. And also, never be too proud to ask questions/advices/help.

My first swimming lesson was more than 15 years ago. I remembered mum used to send likealostghost and I for swimming classes and he obviously doesn't enjoy it. Always grumble and don't pay attention to our coach's instructions. I don't think he graduated from that swim school. hahaha! But that doesn't make him less of who he is today. =) Always proud of him.

Learning is like rowing upstream: not to advance is to drop back.

One Crazy Night

Last night I did a another loop around my usual route. I felt much stronger with my legs and I thought to myself that I could improve on my time, maybe its because of the cool wheather. While I was riding through Jelutong Expressway, there was a really nasty accident at the other side of the road. A lot of by 'kaypo' people surrounding the area.

Went on smooth, strong and fast until....................... a motorbike came and knocked my front wheels! Walaueh!! The first thing that came to my mind was, 'Gai liao la!! Ima sure gone d.' He just apologized and sped away, claiming that he didn't see me. He was dreaming la! Come on!!! But really thank God that the wheel was still okay and I just got a little scratch on my hand. There goes my personal best (PB) time.

[a pretty deep scratch at my front wheel]

[a small cut, fortunately I was holding the lower handle bar]

[a deep damage at my grip, if my hands were there, gone case]

[fork also not smooth anymore =/]

[broken rear red light and I lost 2 AAA size batteries]

After my accident, I quickly race home because the clouds were turning black and the wind was getting stronger. When I was almost home, there was another rider following me from behind. So I tried to be friendly, turned and say hie. He gave me some pointers, advices and even invited me to his 'geng'. He thinks I'm fast and my stamina is good. Hahaha!

I told him my main sport is Floorball le. Floorball is the foundation for all my physical fitness. So we exchange numbers and he even help me fix my new toy, a cycle computer. Yes!!! My Cateye Strada Wireless. Wohoo! When I fix it on my own, the computer can't seem to connect to the receiver but he saved me. Thanks Sani.

One think I've learned is that we should be friendly if we are good at something. Don't be stuck up and hidung tinggi. Not good for you and people around you. Just cycle and make friends. Even though being friendly is not my strength but I still try. I am shy guy. Ha!ha!

Now I can track my speed and distance more accurately. Don't have to use Google earth anymore. And it was an interesting night.

Chiak Chiu

I've been taking a lot of bananas lately and it has become part of my daily diet. Don't really know how much it helps but one thing I'm pretty sure is, mentally I am stronger with this fruit. It gives me the extra boost. haha!

I did a lil' research on bananas; the riper a banana the better it is for you. In fact sugar content in a banana is at its peak when the skin has turned completely black. This is the point at which all the starches in a banana have been converted to sugars.

It also contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber, a banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout.

And I did not not that bananas can also help prevent or overcome depression, PMS, hangover, anemia, ulcers, stress, stroke and many more.

X3M Weekend

Non stop action since Thursday till Sunday. Suppose to go for easy walk/jog on Friday with my 'client' but her car's tire 'puncit', but since I'm there already, ala...just go run a few rounds le. That time my muscles already starting to feel it.

Then Sat morning, went for easy swim and I still think my swim suck to the maximum. At night, cannot sleep. Don't know why, maybe because too hungry. Set my alarm at 6am. Woke up a few times to check the time.

Cooo-cu-ko-koooooo. The time has come for the awaited Charity Run for Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital. Woke up, brush teeth, do/feel the usual morning stuff and all set to go.

Reached there about 7.15am and took our yellow hand bands. Waited with the rest at the starting line for the gun to go off. It wasn't as crowded as compared to other runs that I've been but the starting point is really cramp and narrow, causing a mass bottleneck jam. That itself cost me almost 1minute or so.

[Sam - the hand model]

[Starting point]

As usual my objective for the run is to keep my pace and not get 'cut' by others. Started off by trying to get out from the crowd, so have to run the 'rempit' style. Left, right, in, out, sudden break, no signal, sudden acceleration, etc.

After running through botanical gardens, the traffic was much better. More space = More fresh air = Less body odour = more energy. All I did was mark a target with good pace, follow him until I overtake him. Works for me. There were small slopes other than that all flat ground.

Results from my w580i after finishing the race.

Distance
5.8km
Time
30.26
Average speed
11.4km/h
Maximum speed
15.5km/h

Average of 5.1+ minutes per km. Again if I compare my results with the treadmill's result. There's a moderate significant difference. Further detailed analysis is needed.

There were some programes after the run and of course free Vico beverages. Who doesn't want free stuff? And yes of course, the awaited lucky draw which includes a motor bike, I-phone and many more. It started with...

[Body combat]

[Belly dancing/fitness]

and

[a very happy man]

This guy is really sporting and I mean a happy man in a good way. He's supportive and he's the only one who at least tried to follow their moves. All of us were invited to try out the belly fitness. But pai seh la.

[chinese drummer boys]

[my not-so-lucky number]

After some talks from the VIPs, it was drawing time. I really hope I would get something. Numbers after numbers were called. My 3958 wasn't mentioned throughout the draw. Haih.

[a runner winning tonnes of black source]

They gave out about 5 packs of black/soy source. And when this guy walked pass me, I heard someone from behind saying, 'Wahh...eh sai char bee hoon liao.' hahaha.

At the end of the day, we won a medal, a certificate of participation, a hard bread and a bottle of mineral water. I had fun with my buddy Sam, first run together with him and btw he is only minutes behind me. Good job!

[Our logo.Me running]

I ran on the treadmill last night and Sam was there as well. It's good/easier when you're running with somebody you know. Kinda push you to go faster and further. Results for last night's run;

Total time – 1hour
Total distance – 12.6km
Average pace – 4.7619 minutes/km

Managed to cut down almost a minute of my average time per km. So.... does that mean my phone's odometer is not accurate? or I run slower outdoor? Need more experiments.

Please Let Me Win

For many months and weeks Ps Esther has been preaching on a series of 'Living In the realms of the Miraculous'. Sundays after Sundays, her testimonies keep blowing me off my seat.

On a particular Sunday morning before our service, again, she shared to me, 'My car has been taken care of. =) ' I'm so encourage by her attitude and sharing. Unfortunately she will be leaving to East Timor for mission works. Another farewell. *sigh*

[Ps Esther & her 'sword' on her brother's tanker]

So I thought to myself, if God can do it for her, I'm sure He can do it for me as well. Faith is all I need. Come on!!! Pleeeeeaaaaaaseeeeeeeee...

Its been a while since I win anything big from a lucky draw. I came across this sweep contest which rewards a really good triathlon bike. I need that. hahaha! Ima needs company, she's bored alone at home. Can this happen to me? We shall find out on 31.10.2009.

Musician vs Athlete

Went for another bike ride today. It's kinda addictive!!! Yesterday I met one(1) cyclist, today I meet three(3). Went through my new route again, managed to minus off 5minutes from my previous time, making it 55:11. Average speed of 33.7 km/h. Felt stronger during my climb and less traffic light to stop. Today's ride was a little different cause its my first time riding Ima under the sun and the wind was blowing hard against me and her. Fuh!

As I enjoy my last day of my long holidays watching John Mayer's 'Where The Light Is' Live in LA. A thought came to me, 'What if I concentrated and practiced hard on my guitar and be a superb guitarist like him?' I don't have to sweat and suffer all the pain. I just need to work my fingers and use my foot to step on the guitar effects. I could be famous. And 'training' would all be in an air-conditioned room. Wahhh...no hot sun. no weights. no smelly sweat. no cramps. no muscle aches. no breathlessness. no struggles. so...after thinking

Oh...I volunteered to me a helper for IronMonMalaysia2010. I think it would be a good exposure to be there with/around/watching/feeling them. Hope they will get back to me regarding my application.

Back to Training

I have this SE w580i phone which has a fitness function. It counts the steps you take and gauges your running speed. Even though it not absolutely accurate, but it's good enough for casual use. It also shows your progress on a graph, gives you "medals" for working out, and even throws in a sports-trivia game. Sounds pretty cool huh? It has been my training companion for more than a year d.

Last Friday I ran around Bukit Dumbar, wanted to run for about an hour. But after 15++ minutes into my run, the sky started to pour. Had to stop and drive back home. Results from my phone showed;

Distance
3.0 km
Time
17:02:51
Average speed
10.5 km/h
Maximum speed
14.2 km/h

Based on this result I'm running an average of 5.5 minutes per km. That's pretty slow. Maybe the phone's result is no accurate.haha.

The whether is getting better now, no more sudden rains and flash flood. Managed to a 31km ride in about an hour. That's an average of about 30km/h. Not too bad. I think this is the furthest I've ever cycled with Ima. Its my first time trying a new route. Started from my house, Kinta Lane - Jelutong Expressway - Bukit Jambul - Bukit Gambir - Greelane - MBS - Macalister Road - Back home. I thought to myself what an achievement.

But as I read this, '81.49km ride yesterday in 2:50.10 (average 28.7kph)' It really made me feel small and weak. On the brighter side, it is a motivation to me. I enjoy reading his blog because I feel we have similaries except that I don't have a girlfriend. =p

New Body Pump Instructor

Who is this new guy on the block? Definitely not me la, even though I would love to be one. Maybe in the future as part time job. Yesterday morning, I went to the Doctor again, showed him my body and he said, "Good! Not spreading d. Don't have to come see me again." I quickly ask him, "Can I do sports and sweat?" He looked at me and replied, "Ya, sure, no problem. Go ahead." That is one hell of a good news for me. Restraining from chicken, egg and other seafood is killing me already!

So that night, I hit the gym for bodypump class. I saw a new face there, I thought he was one of the new members there, he looks pretty bulk with big tone arms and all. As I was gathering my weights, I saw him getting prepared on the stage. Then only I realized he is our new instructor. His name is Vincent.

I have never suffered so much since many many months back. The worst I suffered was the Christmas song for biceps track by Paul. Even that, I'm getting a hang of it. The tracks that Vincent uses is crazy. Long hardcore songs that makes you persevere even more. I have to keep pushing myself mentally and still fail to finish some of the reps. My face turn red due to the constant 'kek' Fuuuhh! This guy is nuts. Imagine 20KGs for the chest track and there is no recovery. I only took 15KGs and it felt like eternity.

If you want intensity and raw pain, Thursday night it the night to feel pain. I'm still feeling it.

Innebabes

This is a confession corner. I have been so focus on the guy's team that I totally neglected the girls. Sad but true. I always paid more attention to the guys and not so much on the girls. Probably because we don't have many girls player in our club, even if that's the case I shouldn't be gender bias. That's discrimination! And its been a while since we recruited new female players. I'm so sorry.

[Celebration after scoring.go babes!]

Thank you for waking me up and realize that there's is still a lot of work that needs to be done. Winston Churchill said, "Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen." It takes a brave person to listen to unpleasant truth. I guess I can conclude that I am a courageous person?haha!

I would like to specifically thank #7Valerie and #12Cui Lin for always being so faithful to Innebandy!Co eventhough at times you girls feel left out. I am really sorry but again, you girls have contributed a lot to our club.
  • Z-liners Floorball tournament 2008 1st Runner Up
  • Youthwave Floorball Challenge 2009 Champions
  • Many more to come...
[Innebabes]

As I think about it, having more girls in a club is a good thing. From a guy's point of view, somehow they motivate us to play better. Cuz you noe la..guy ego and all. Ha!ha! Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about. We need girls. Well, I do[from inne's perspective].

[Innebabes during Z-liners Floorball tournament 2008]

Enough have been said, now its time to the application part. I hope we can form a girl's team by April 2010. Target set. Time to hit it. Innebabes, here we go. I am excited! Girls girls girls. =)

Bitten by "Snake"

I'm down with Shingles and that's bad. Went to the doctor, got a jab from him. He then told me that I can only take pork and vegetable. It first occurred 1 week ago and I thought it is just some insect bite, so I didn't bother much bout it. As days past, it became more painful and it started to spread.

When I can't continue training, I really feel geram. No state training tomorrow as my nerves are being attack!! Uhhhh.... =(
FYI
Shingles (Herpes zoster) is an extremely painful skin rash caused by the Varicella zoster virus, the same virus that causes chickenpox. In people who have had chickenpox, the virus is never fully cleared from the body; instead, it remains dormant in the nerve tissues. When physical or emotional stresses to the body weaken the immune system, the virus re-activates and spreads along the nerve fibers to the particular area of skin supplied by the involved nerve (called a dermatome). The virus responsible for chickenpox and shingles is a member of the Herpesviruses, although it is not the same as the Herpes simplex 1 and 2 viruses that cause cold sores and genital herpes, respectively.

All Star Interview : Ter Min #25

Ter Min is simply the best player to me. I have seen him grown since the beginning till this very day. Many many years back he is one fella that keep asking me on 'How to improve this and that' questions. I used to call him my 'son' but I can't remember how that started. Now, I'm the one who is eager to learn this signature drag shot. =) Let's look at his journey. Introducing...

[Ter Min #25]

How long have you been playing Floorball?Since which year?
Been playing floorball for 5 years ++. Started in May 2004.

What stick do you use and why?
I use Fat Pipe Hog. I like this stick because of the high flex. Very nice stick to use as well as at a very reasonable price.

[Gay pic with me.haha]

Why do you wear #25?Any reason(s) behind it?
I wear number #25 just starting from this year. I think most people know my number as #4. But I've decided to have a change this season. #25 is a meaningful number for me because it is the age I plan to get married.

How do you train to be where you are today?
hmmm.. I train hard during training and learn one thing by one thing slowly. Focus on the small errors and try to correct it and improve from my mistakes. When i am off the court, at times i try to think of new skills to do and will try to execute it when i go to training.

What do you think is the MOST IMPORTANT element in becoming a good Floorball player?
To me the most important element is our willingness to learn. I believe if one is willing to learn, he will improve very fast. But that person must also need to have sports sense la too learn faster. As well as brains. haha..

Did success in Floorball come quickly for you or did it take some time before you were successful?
To me i still don't think success is there yet for me. However, i believe it takes time and much training before one can be successful.

[Ter Min and his team Ztec 8cers, Champions of PFL Div 1]

Do you have any pre-game ritual?
Yes a couple. I believe in listening to 'some type' of musics with my team mate Jo-Wyee. By doing this I can play better. Besides that, my pink blade gives me more confidence.

[Jo Wyee and Ter Min]

Do you have any favorite songs/movies that motivates you?
Like I mention, my favourite songs that motivates me are those songs I listen with Jo Wyee. Movies, hmmm Facing the Giant use to motivate me.

One word about you and Floorball.
Brains

[Thank you for your time and sharing]

All Star Interview : Deswyn Wan #20

Please meet myself.

[Deswyn #20]

How long have you been playing Floorball?Since which year?
6years d lo since 2003.

What stick do you use and why?
Fatpipe Japan/Hog because it gives me great control and power in my shots. And I love the flex and feel of it. The hole blade also makes it easier to do tricks in the game.

Why do you wear #20?Any reason(s) behind it?
#20 because that's my birth date.

How do you train to be where you are today?
First of all, I set goals that I wanna achieve then I work towards it. You need a 'Vision'. That's mental training. Secondly, I learn from people who are better than me or who could coach me and correct my mistakes. You've gotta be teachable and humble because there will always be someone who is better than you. Thirdly, I do my own homework and research on how to improve my techniques, shots, accuracy, etc. Finally, practise, practise, practise and never ever give up!

[Inne vs Contact]

What do you think is the MOST IMPORTANT element in becoming a good Floorball player?
I always believe in the basics. If you're good at it, you'll will be able to advance your technical skills further. Get your basics right i.e flat passes, looking up when having the ball, good ball control, speed & stamina. FYI I only practise on ball control for the first 6months.

How do you train on your physical fitness? How many times a week?
Besides jogging, I also cycle and swim. I do hit the gym for weight training. I think I train about 5-6days a week but most importantly you've to enjoy what you do.

Did success in Floorball come quickly for you or did it take some time before you were successful?
As for me I was fortunate enough to taste success not long after I started the game. I guess its just the right timing for me as Floorball was just booming at that time. Penang just started and the National selection for the World Championship 2004 in Spain was on. I guess my hard work and determination paid off.

[Cheering with Team Salibandy!Co]

Do you have any pre-game ritual?
Used to listen to 'Stand Up for the Champions' before each game. Don't think I have any ritual now. Oh...oh..got!!Singing our Innebandy!Co song. It helps!

Do you have any favorite songs/movies that motivates you?
I like the quotes in 'We are Marshall'. It is based on a true story. Very inspiring and touching.
Anything with nice melody or with heavy bass cause it gets me pumping. Current favorite 'I Know You Want Me by Pitbull'.

One word about you and Floorball.
Happy =)

All Star Interview : Kao Lin Ken #31

He is one guy who is really passionate about the game. Ask him anything about Floorball and he'll explain to you in detail, whether its international news or local. I've known him for a long long time. And I could say training/playing without him would be quiet. His constant scream of motivation and "profanities" often gives me strength to play better. No.1 goalie in Penang and probably Malaysia, let's look at his journey.

[Kao Lin Ken #31]

How long have you been playing Floorball?Since which year?

This year would be my 6th year playing floorball. I started playing floorball when the sport was first introduced to me by Mr. Edward Lim back in 2004.

What gears do you use and why?
Unihoc. I think its simply the best in the market.

Why do you wear #31 Any reason(s) behind it?
#31, because of Henri Toivoniemi and I would like to play like him someday.

[Henri Toivoniemi]

How do you train to be where you are today?
Practise, practise, practise. I believe that one can never practise too much. Therefore, i just practise my basics over and over again.

What do you think is the MOST IMPORTANT element in becoming a good Floorball player?
In my opinion, the most important element in becoming a good floorball player is the ATTITUDE to keep on wanting to learn more. I also believe that HARDWORK is also very crucial in becoming a good player.

How do you train on your physical fitness? How many times a week?
2 times a week. Running around my housing area for about an hour.

Did success in Floorball come quickly for you or did it take some time before you were successful?
No, I still remembered the first goal I conceded when I represented Malaysia for the first time. I let in a long range effort in less than 3 seconds, but i think the key is to PERSEVERE. And it does take quite some time before you become good.

Do you have any pre-game ritual?
Yes, i do. Before every game, i'll have to sit myself down quietly and visually imagine how i'm going to make every save and what the opponents might do to get the ball pass me.

Do you have any favorite songs/movies that motivates you?
I don't have any favourite songs /movies that motivates me. However, i must watch some Floorball videos to get me going.

[Look at his focus and dedication in his game.Ho liau!]

One word about you and Floorball.
Beginner.

[Thank you for sharing your thoughts and insights. All the best for your future Floorball plans]

All Star Interview : Sam Teoh #44

[Sam Teoh #44 against India]

How long have you been playing Floorball?Since which year?
7years. Since 2003

What stick do you use and why?
Canadien ICS because I'm sponsored.

Why do you wear #44? Any reason(s) behind it?
#44. My DoB + Cat's DoB(his girlfriend not his pet) = 44

[Sam and Cat]

How do you train to be where you are today?
By constantly training?ahah

What do you think is the MOST IMPORTANT element in becoming a good Floorball player?
Floorball sense.

How do you train on your physical fitness? How many times a week?
2-3 times a week.

Did success in Floorball come quickly for you or did it take some time before you were successful?
Quite fast.

Do you have any pre-game ritual?
Doing a long warm up before my game helps.

Do you have any favorite songs/movies that motivates you?
Shouts of my supporters.

[Focusing in the game]

One word about you and Floorball.
Fun.

[Thank you for your short and simple tips]

All Star Team Interview : Jeremy Yeap #77

I'll be doing a series of interviews with the All Star Players for the PFL Division 1 2009. Borak-borak Floorball has a full review on the players in the All Star Team but let's get up close and personal with them. If you have been wondering how to be like them and what it takes to be where they are today. Spot on! This post is meant for you. Hope it will benefit you guys. Keep on rollin'.

First, we will start of with Jeremy Yeap my man from Ztec 8cers currently reciding in Oklah-oma (where everything for Oma is okay). We used to play and train together in the same team and that was fun time. He was my first Floorball partner and he is one player that will think out of the norm. Would not just stick with the ordinary, that's what I learned from him. Good memories good memories. He was also the one that got me into playing Floorball. A good Floorball player with trickery skills and speed he is well known for. Let's try to dig out his secrets of success.

How long have you been playing Floorball?Since which year?

Since 2002. About 7 years.

What stick do you use and why?
I love Exel and Fatpipe. I usually use Exel stick because in my opinion I think it's a pretty good stick for ball control and I occasionally use Fatpipe for shooting purposes simply because I can only shoot properly with Fatpipe. Weird but TRUE.

[Against Andrew of Inne with his signature Pink Excel stick]

Why do you wear #77 Any reason(s) behind it?

I wear the jersey #77 because it reminds me of my all time childhood favorite bible verse. Matthew 7:7. It says ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find and knock and the door will be open to you.

How do you train to be where you are today?
I simply just do a lot of ball control. I would normally try my best and do ball control for at least 15-30mins a day.

What do you think is the MOST IMPORTANT element in becoming a good Floorball player?
I think the most important element is to be able to focus hard on basics like ball control and above all have the heart and humbleness to learn from others and also from mistakes.

How do you train on your physical fitness? How many times a week?
I would normally do sprinting and occasional jogs. I always try to do at least 4-7 times in a month.

[HoneyBell and Jeremy doing some sprint together]

Did success in Floorball come quickly for you or did it take some time before you were successful?
"Success" come pretty quickly for me, BUT that doesn't mean that I became good overnight. It took me a very long time to be able to improve my ball control, passing and shooting skills. Nevertheless, I still think there's a lot more to learn and I don't want to only be good but to be better and hopefully the best. Which means I have to work harder. Thus, I would say I'm not successful yet. Only when I can beat myself and be better than what I am today, then only would I say I am successful.

Do you have any pre-game ritual?
Yes, I would pray and proclaim Matthew 7:7. I'll always ask for God's protection from injuries, seek for creativity and wisdom to play and knock hard on my opponents goal mouth. :)

[Excuting good dribling skill]

Do you have any favorite songs/movies that motivates you?
I always listen to The Time Has Come from Hillsongs before games and even training to keep me motivated. As for movie, I would say any inspiring sports movie would be good, but I think the movie Coach Carter inspires me one of the most.

One word about you and Floorball.

Salute to the Veterans

I had a good rest last night. So good that I struggled to get off the bed this morning. You know the best part about sleeping is the few minutes after you're awake. You're awake in your head but your body is still on the bed. Then you keep telling yourself, 5 more minutes then 2 more minutes, sometimes 1 more minute. Ahhhhhh....the feeling is indescribable. You feel the softness of the bed, curling underneath the blanket cause its so cold. Then suddenly you smell something funny, usually is from my pillow =x hahaha! Damn.

Came across The Star's article on this two veteran athletes who still competes in IronMan. After reading it, I just shake my head *left right left right + tsk tsk tsk*. Will I be like them when I'm 70. Their story is just inspiring and hopefully it will inspire you as well.

My favourite statement from Patsy Yap age 65;

"If I don’t train for two days, I get grouchy and snap at people. Exercise is pretty addictive.

Haha! And this lady almost got rape during one of her training but that didn't stop her. Insane Courage!
Also check out [IM]Yee Sze Mun who will be competing in his 16th IronMan race this year at Kono in Hawaii. And this is the World Championships!!!Don't play play ar. Its the most pretigious IronMan challenge in the World. To be there, you have to earn your spot man. Uncle, all the best!Malaysia Boleh!

Inner Sho(cir)-cle

A player’s potential is determined by those closest to him. Inner Circle. My mum, dad, grandma and cousin always complaint that my shoes are taking a lot place on the stairs(that's where I put my shoes). They always ask why do I need so many pairs of shoe, in contrast to likealostghost who only live with his one and only converse. And my reply is always, 'likealostghost don't do sports ma.ha!ha!'

[welcome to my Inner Circle]

[likealostghost's only shoe]

Before realizing the importance of different shoes and its function, I use to believe I only need 1 shoe for all sports, whether its running, floorball-ing or others. As I grow and mature through my years in the sports world, I came to a realization that no one shoe can do all things that another can do better. Like us humans, we can't be good in everything. That's why we need people with different strengths to compliment our weaknesses.

Let's have a look at my Inner Sho(cir)-cle:-

My Adidas Attune is a CLIMACOOL® product which contain ventilation channels, wicking, and flow mapping which keeps me cool by actively expelling heat. When your body is cool, you perform better, furthermore it's light. I use this a lot for running and gym purposes. We've completed KL marathon - 10K and the Desaru's sprint triathlon together. Many more to come.
Cost - RM299.90 - RM50 discount voucher = RM249.90

This is my another Adidas Litestrike, I got this as my birthday present. This was my replacement for my another gym shoe cause I left it at the gym and it got stolen. I was so so upset. I got this for about RM120++ if I'm not mistaken. There's a lot of cushioning in it which makes it comfortable. After just using it for a few months, it started to open its 'mouth'. That's why you can see the mark of stitches. We've completed the Komtar tower run together. Cost - FOC + RM30 for sewing the sole = RM30.

This is my first Puma shoe I got for myself. I bought this shoe cuz my Floorball coach kinda 'ban' those Nike futsal shoe. We've been through a lot of Floorball tournaments together. Its a lil heavy in comparison to the Nike futsal shoe but the stability and comfort is there. The only setback is I keep falling down in court. Not sure whether its the shoe or me. haha!
Cost - RM200++

I have a collection of this kinda shoe. It is my favourite type of court shoe because the price is reasonable, it has the looks and its light. I buy it every year. The only setback is that it can only last for a year and it has no cushioning. I remember buying this shoe with the Salibandy!Co guys a night before our tournament (We got Champions for that tournament). It was so last minute that I had to bang on the shop to get the shoe out of there. It has now turned into my cycling shoe because its light and it is aerodynamic.
Cost - RM129.90

[My second Puma. I guess Usain Bolt con me into getting another Puma. Ha!ha!]

[Ever faithful shoe that has served me for more than 5years. So durable and long lasting]

If you notice, all my shoes are white in colour except one. It just so me. =p Together they serve and work together with me, so we could achieve greater heights and expand our boundaries. Thank you shoes. I wouldn't be where I am today without y'all. Have a productive year ahead yo' and great job!
